Are robotic vacuum cleaners really efficient?

There is no doubt that technology has changed our life. Whether it is good or bad, is a topic for discussion. Personally, I am not very fond of robots. Vacuum cleaner is a must have device and today you can see a vacuum cleaner in every house. But, with the introduction of the robotic vacuum cleaner, what is the major change that has occurred in the cleaning process? How effective is a robotic vacuum cleaner? There are many questions unanswered and I am sure you are curious to find out the answers. So, let’s discuss more about a robotic vacuum cleaner.

For many, the introduction of the robotic vacuum cleaner has changed the world of cleaning. Due to the advanced technology and sleek design, people are ready to invest money on a vacuum cleaner. Robotic vacuum cleaner is intelligent and smart compared to the traditional vacuum cleaners. It vacuums your home without any input from you. Once it is done with cleaning, it will move to the docking station automatically. Some high end models even speak to you to inform that they are done with cleaning.

The best robotic vacuum cleaners work well when your surface is hard. It does a good job in cleaning carpets also. Especially if you have pet, it helps in removing pet hair from your carpets and floors. There are a number of sensors inside and underneath the robotic vacuum cleaner that allow your robotic vacuum cleaner to read about the environment and perform its function without any difficulty.

The main advantage of the robotic vacuum cleaner is that it is easy to use. You don’t have to spend hours on it. It will automatically clean your home and then sit somewhere without disturbing you. It is an intelligent system, works well and does an efficient job. Robotic vacuum cleaners are affordable, making it easy for a normal person to buy it and use it. And what’s more, you can even repair it without any difficulty.

But will it replace the traditional vacuum cleaner? Now that is a tough question to answer. It is a personal choice, if you have a small room, that does not include any staircase, and wooden floors then the robotic vacuum cleaner is a good option. It will keep your house neat and clean without you putting in any effort. But, if your house is big and you have many stairs and hard carpets, then robotic vacuum cleaner will struggle. Robotic vacuum cleaner cannot climb the stairs and clean it; also the robotic vacuum cleaner will find it difficult to clean hard carpets and struggle to clean corners.

So, replacing a traditional vacuum cleaner with a robotic vacuum cleaner is not a great idea if you have a big house with lots of furniture, corners, and carpets.

3 sites you can use to learn new things for free

I have a friend who says that, once you reach the age of 30 and aren’t accomplished, you aren’t able to do anything with your life anymore. I don’t agree with this statement. In fact, I disagree with it so much that I told her that you could do something new at any age, even at 70. I’m a bit of a hedonist myself, although not entirely. I like the way that I live now and the freedom I can take advantage of, and the coolest thing in my life is that I have a great job.

I used to do something else entirely, but I changed professions about five years ago. There’s no point in me giving you a lot of details in this respect. However, what I want to point out is that you can start to learn what you like today.

The amount of information available for free nowadays is truly baffling. With the exception of some resources such as Elsevier, there are thousands of websites that can tell you how you can complete a task you’ve meaning to take care of, or how you can start to learn a subject that you have no experience with whatsoever.

To cut things short, I am going to talk to you about three websites that have helped me in the past. Some you can use to perfect your business and communication skills, while others are great if you want to learn to code, for example. Keep in mind that there are also world-known websites such as those belonging to MIT and Stanford, where you can find great courses that are entirely complementary.

  1. Coursera

This site is absolutely fantastic. The only trouble with it is that you will not get a certification if you don’t pay for the course. While some courses cost just about fifty dollars, others can be as expensive as two hundred. However, there are many that are available for free, but you won’t be able to showcase the certification in your resume. Nonetheless, at least you can try them out before buying, just to know whether they are a good fit for you.

  1. FutureLearn

I came across this resource about three years ago. I was searching for something new, and I decided to enroll in a course about British culture. It was good enough, although I have to say that it didn’t sweep me off my feet. Nonetheless, the site has grown a lot in recent years, which is why I have to recommend it to you.

All of the courses are free, and the same certification rule applies in this case, as well. Unlike Coursera where just some of the classes are complimentary, on FutureLearn all of them are.

  1. Khan Academy

This is another cool website I’ve tried out in the past, although I wasn’t particularly impressed. The neat thing about it is that it also comes with an Android and iOS app that you can install on your mobile devices so that you have your courses ready for you whenever you have some time.

How to clean your home using vinegar

I have a friend who’s no fan of vinegar, and I can’t for the love of God understand what puts her off so much about it. The last time I heard her talk about it was when her boyfriend’s mother came over and cleaned the house and used a bit of vinegar to disinfect this and that. When she stepped into the apartment, she felt nauseated by the smell.

I, on the other hand, couldn’t be happier with the prospect of using vinegar all over my home. I love it and add loads and loads of it to my salads. I would do the same to sauces and my general cooking if that’d be possible, but I hardly think that’s a good idea. I remember that I took a trip to the UK when I was younger and they had vinegar Walkers chips over there. They were divine!

I mostly use vinegar in my kitchen, but the sky’s the limit as to which surfaces you can clean with it. I clean my microwave, stained plastic containers, countertop, drain, and cutting boards with it, and I make sure to do the same with my refrigerator once in a while, particularly if there’s any nasty smell that has been bothering me.

The neat thing about vinegar is that it is capable of killing most bacteria that live in your home. That’s why I also utilize it in the bathroom. I make a diluted solution to scrub the tile and the toilet in my bathroom, and I use it in the shower, as well. In case you didn’t know, a combination of vinegar and baking soda does wonders when it comes to removing scale. The same goes for the showerhead, of course.

Every month or so, I use about one liter of white vinegar to get rid of the scale that has built up inside my kettle and my washing machine. Typically, I should use some sort of descaling solution or tablets for this, but I hardly see any point in spending money on such things when the answer to all of my questions rests in my pantry. The place where I scarcely use vinegar is the bedroom, but that’s because I don’t particularly like sleeping in an environment smelling like it. Other than that, I even clean the floors with this natural dirt remover.

Some of my buddies utilize it to disinfect their countertops on a regular basis, so if you mix part water with part vinegar, you can make your own disinfecting solution. If you have ever carved a chicken on your countertop, it’s very likely that there’s still bacteria lurking in those nooks and crannies. So, in a way, using vinegar to clean your home can help you keep your health on par.

What I use to get rid of pet hair and dander

There’s nothing I hate more than dander and pet hair. I love my dog and my cat, but they can sometimes get on my nerves because their hair seems to get absolutely everywhere. On my clothes, on the carpets, on my upholstery, and even in the car, it’s everywhere I look. Fortunately, unlike many other people, I am quite healthy so I don’t even have a mild allergy.

Over the years, I’ve used several tips and tricks to get rid of cat and dog hair conveniently. I’m going to share some of them with you, so keep on reading. One of the first pieces of advice I can give you is to try to keep your home with as many solid surfaces as possible. If you’re lucky enough to live in an area with a warm climate, you don’t even need rugs on your floors. You can get rid of pet dander from furniture, baseboards, walls, and ceilings with an all-purpose cleaner and a rag.

Something I would also suggest would be to invest in the best broom for dog hair. There are several models that you can use efficiently and easily, and many of them are cordless so you can reach every space you want to clean. I’ve opted for a Dirt Devil model because I can turn it into a car vacuum, but it all depends on your personal requirements.

Another tip I recommend is bathing your pet on a regular basis. It goes without saying that this might be a bit tricky if you have a cat, especially one like my own. She hates water so much I can’t even begin to explain. However, you can do this with dogs, and if you have kids, my advice would be to grab an inflatable pool and have a bit of fun in your backyard.

If you’re unlucky and do have some upholstery in your home, it would be great if you used some tape to pick up the hair. Of course, this doesn’t work on large surfaces because nobody wants to waste that much time. Make sure to keep your dog and cat groomed as often as possible. Think of it this way. It’s enjoyable for them because it’s like you are giving them a massage. Plus, they like it because they like you and this way, they’ll feel like you are giving them the attention that they crave.

Also, if you have a dog breed with long hair, don’t hesitate to groom him or her at home or take him or her to a salon. If you have your own machine, there’s a bunch of tutorials you can find online and on sites like YouTube, and many of them are made by professional groomers.
